Georjeans Pet Grooming is delighted to announce that Silver Grand Champion Frodo (aka “SGCH Halcyon’s All You Need is Love”) won “Best of Breed” among Standard Schnauzers at the prestigious National Dog Show on Nov. 18 and 19 in Philadelphia, PA. Along with the Westminster Dog Show in New York City, the National Dog Show is one of the top dog shows in the country. The highlights of the show were broadcast on NBC stations at 12 noon local time on Thanksgiving Day.
Frodo is owned by Leslie Shriner and bred by Pat White, who both live in the Warrenton, Virginia area. He has also won Best of Breed honors at several other major regional and national dog shows during the past year and is currently ranked among the top ten Standard Schnauzers in the U.S.
In February Frodo won an Award of Merit at the 2018 Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show in New York City — an award he had also previously won in 2014 and 2017 at the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show. Frodo also was named “2017 Dog of the Year” by the Potomac Valley Standard Schnauzer Club.
Leslie Shriner has been breeding, training, and showing Standard Schnauzers for over 20 years. She has been a leading contender in regional and national Standard Schnauzer competition for many years and several of her male and female Standard Schnauzers have been ranked in the top ten nationally in previous years.
Leslie is owner of Aspirations Pet Services, LLC, and Georjeans Dog Grooming & Self-Service Dog Wash in Warrenton, Virginia. She specializes in care and grooming of dogs for AKC show competition and for care and grooming of geriatric dogs, based on her extensive personal and veterinary experience. The groomers who work at Georjeans Pet Grooming also have extensive experience in care, training, and grooming of show dogs, as well as family pets.
Pat White is a long-time resident of Fauquier County and the owner of Halcyon Standard Schnauzers, which has bred over 25 American and International Champions and Grand Champions. Pat has served as President of the Potomac Valley Standard Schnauzer Club and is internationally recognized as one of the world’s leading breeders of Standard Schnauzers, both as show dogs and family companions. For over 25 years, Halcyon puppies have been home raised with emphasis on socialization and positive reinforcement, with attention to the critical stages of puppy development and preparation for their important role as life-long family companions.
The Potomac Valley Standard Schnauzer Club (PVSSC) is comprised of breeders and owners from throughout the mid-Atlantic region and is one of the largest chapters of the Standard Schnauzer Club of America (SSCA).
